I remember when my wife, Janice, and I decided to move to Hanover County 15 years ago. We chose Hanover in large part because we knew it would offer our two daughters a quality education. That was the right decision because Mechanicsville has been recognized as the United States’ 84th best small town to live in by Money Magazine. When I opened my small business in the Mechanicsville area 10 years ago, I believed that Hanover would be a good place in which to do business. And it is a good place to do business. I knew that Hanover had a lot to offer my family. It was a place where we could make the American dream come true, with hard work and dedication. We must keep it that way for future generations. Thanks to your help, we are making headway in letting voters know that they have a very important decision to make when they go to the polls on November 3 and cast their vote for the next representative for the 55th District in the House of Delegates.
There are real issues facing Hanover…smart growth, transportation and education issues top the list. The Republican candidate for Governor has suggested we take money from the education budget to fix our roads. I am against raiding the education budget to solve our transportation problems. In fact, I can’t think of anything that would be more unwise. We must keep Virginia on track and maintain the 8-year record established by Governors Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, a record that has made Virginia the “best state to raise a family”, “the best state in which to do business”, and “the best managed state”. We must go forward, not backwards.
As your Delegate in General Assembly, I will represent the voters in the 55th District…not big business interests, not special lobbying groups, but the hardworking citizens who have chosen to live in Hanover because of the quality of life it provides for families like yours and mine. I need your continued support to let voters know how important this upcoming election is. I pledge to put my constituents first, not party politics and not lobbying interests.
